Throttle body swap?

Hello all. I apologize if this is been specifically talked about but I haven't been able to find a suitable answer. My 2001 Non turbo V70 is throwing engine system service notifications relating to the ETM. I had already discovered this option but my local shop recommended Xemodex to cure my issues. I also found a "good, working" ETM on CL from a guy who claims to be a Volvo mechanic and sells parts all the time and he states that if I bought his ETM that it would be "plug and play." Is this true? Or will I need to program it? He says its from a 2000-2002 v70.
