Well guys, this is my first post on the site but I always seem to end up here looking for diy projects.
Recently I put a boost gauge in my 2005 volvo s60. About a day later I'm getting p0026 and p0027 as well as "no oil pressure, stop engine" on my 2005 volvo s60. I havent the first clue whats going on. Also I seem to have a knocking type noise coming from the engine. The p0026 and p0027 read exhaust and intake selenoids on my obdII scanner. I'm really trying to avoid the stealership as I've recently gotten out of the military and haven't found work just yet. I've got decent experience with cars if someone would be willing to point me in the right direction.
Info:
Car shows 155k. I had a bit of noise about 10k ago so I put in some oil treatment that was real thick and it stopped making the noise. I've also noticed that every once in a while the oil will get a bit low and I'll top it up. But I haven't found any leaks. A bit of buildup on the bottom of the turbo but nothing crazy.
Thank you guys.

Drop oil pan and inspect for sludge blocking the oil pickup, o rings failed on the tubes from oil filter to oil cooler, and o ring failure on the oil pan to intermediate section (bedplate) surface. Also inspect for metal debris in pan that might indicate bearing failure.
Funny enough, I did an oil change and used sea foam and 0-20 for the new oil and the problem went away. I cleared the code and it hasn't come back. There was a bit of metal debri. I'm thinking the oil treatment I used last time made the oil much too thick and it wasn't getting past the filter or something... But either way it's good thus far! I'm going to change the oil again in a week just to make sure there's no sludge or anything. On a side note check out the stereo and boost gauge!
Quick update. The "No Oil pressure, stop engine safely" came back on. But then it went off when I restarted the engine. I have NO noise coming the engine compartment. Even the injectors don't make much noise. The engine is running great. I'm thinking maybe its the senor?

0W20 is too thin for this engine. The W20 specification is for recent engines with tighter clearance. In older cars, the 0W20 oil might cause rapid friction wear. As mentioned above, usually the no oil pressure message is caused by clogged pcv or by stuck pickup oil mesh (by flake particles). Both would require dropping the oil pan and not driving the car until fixed, or rod bearings will quickly get busted. Seafoam and similar additives are not helpful for this. You may try to drain the oil and get something through the oil drain hole to check for sludge on the bottom of the pan. I also tried to get a thin dish brush through the hole and reach the pickup mesh, but this might not the smartest way to go.

Well go ahead and replace the oil pressure sensor just to see if it's the problem or not, but oragex is right - you are playing with fire here. If you like this car and want the engine to last you need to figure this out for sure. If the engine is sludged up you need to fix it for real.
Get that w20 out now! Try Mobil1 0w40, it's a good strong detergent oil. any other 5w40 synthetic is fine as well, the diesel ones would be quite good at dissolving sludge (Shell Rotella, Mobil1 TDT, etc). If you're lucky you can get away with several short oil change intervals, 1000-3000 miles each, using a very high quality synthetic oil that will dissolve the sludge well enough to restore proper function. Per the owners manual w30 oil is fine too, but with summer coming up I would go to w40.
