V70 2.4 SE (auto) cutting out
My V70 2.4 SE (2003 reg) auto engine keeps suddenly cutting out when travelling at low speeds <20mph or slowing down. Does anyone have any idea why this might be?

Is it stalling and putting you on the side of the road or just missing and jerking?

non turbo? miles? timing belt and pulleys replaced with original Volvo parts?
one of those tricky issues. be aware of showing up to the main dealer, the kind of situation that may not solve the issue but drain the pockets
Being a 2003 the tb shouldn't be an issue. Still, a great idea to give it a cleaning on both sides of the butterfly valve. Remove the large black rubber tube at the tb (kept by a collar), keep the butterfly valve wide open and pass a non lint rug where the valve it's attached on both sides.
2003 prone to FPS sensor going bad (fuel pressure sensor)

Not a CEM or ECM issue either, normally
If all above checks fine, might also be a short somewhere, I'd inspect in this order the voltage at the alternator, the cables at the alternator, all a/c - alternator - tensioner (both belts) pulleys for smooth rolling by hand without the serpentine belt on

Thank you very much - that advice is helpful. It has 163,000 miles. Timing belt replaced at 105,861 miles at independent garage, so may not be Volvo parts. looking I see the SH at 65,152 miles says the car was cutting out then as well and had throttle cleaned and 'latest software' downloaded to throttle and ECM. Throttle body was then removed and cleaned again at 99,695 miles. I just bought the car at 162,000 miles. It is the 140 BHP model.
Like you say maybe it could be the fuel pressure sensor?
