Cabin Fan Stays On

Got an '02XC70 with about 215k miles on it.

Sometimes - and there seems to be no pattern of any kind - the cabin fan is blowing when we get into the car. We don't notice it blowing when we shut the car and get out, but every once in awhile it has apparently turned on at some point in our absence. To date it has not run the battery down, so it doesn't appear that it goes on and just stays on (overnight, for instance).

Any ideas what's going on?

There's a feature that runs the cabin fan briefly after exiting to dry out the A/C evaporator and prevent mold. You could be catching it in that mode by chance.

Its a P2 feature and I think its also on my 1999. It can run for up to an hour and start up an hour after shutdown too.
