2002 volvo s60 non-turbo help

Post by Wadafux89 »

Hey guys I'm new to the forum my name is braden and hopefully I can get a few opinions on what is going on with my volvo s60, so thnks in advance..here's wat I got.

Ive got a 2002 volvo s60 non turbo 70k miles on it, I bought it from a friend of mine for little to nothing the car was involved in a, accident (minor damages in my opinion ) rear ended a Suv at a stoplight. So as far as cosmetics it just needs new headlights the hood and bumper can be salvaged.
Now as far as under the hood it needs a new cooling system/radiator and a new air filter box.

So since the accident I have installed a new radiator, a/c condenser, cooling fan and air filter box assembly. So everything is back in the car (except the headlight) I believe I have everything back plugged up and ready to fire.
I disconnected the battery and charged it up and made sure I had a full charge and the next day (today) I put it back in the car and tried to start it and see what we got but all its doing is turning over it won't start.....so I've been asking around and Ive been told that I have to take it to the dealership and have the computer reset/reprogrammed something to do with the fuel being shut off due to the accident. Im not 100% convinced that, that is the problem but i'dk I looking for any suggestions or opinions and hopefully mabey even a solution.

THANKS again, Braden

Is it building pressure in the injector rail? (If there's a schrader valve on the rail you can punch the center core like letting a bit of air out of a tire, but in this case gas should shoot out - hold a rag over it.)

Are the spark plugs getting wet?

While the plug is out, reconnect it to its coil, ground the spark plug, crank the engine, look for spark.

Check compression at all 5 cylinders. Some folks have said that if the engine sits too long the oil drains off the piston rings and it won't build adequate compression to support combustion. They've said a few squirts of oil into each cylinder got it running.
