Hi,
Bought a used 2000 S40 that previously had been in an accident and repaired. The SRS (air bag) lamp does not light during start (when all of them should light).
How can I troubleshoot what is wrong? Entirely possible that the airbags are missing and/or the sensors never got replaced/reconnected.
Where are all of the SRS sensors (particularly those at the front & right sides)? I thought a good first step is to determine if the sensors are present and have wires going to them.
How to determine if the airbags are installed? Best to leave this part to volvo dealer?
Any other recommendations?
Thanks.
No SRS lamp at start. Where are all of the ABS sensors?

You need to read your codes first. Your Volvo has an OBDII port that is a physical interface to a 'brain.'
OBDII tools are available retail here in the States for $150 and up. Or a dealer would have this tool of course and may or may not charge you to check your codes.
