Just thought I would share my recent experience about my 2004 v70 B4 transmission. I bought the car less than a year ago with 142,000 miles. That car had a hard bang/shift into third gear. I read that usually the 2004's are not impacted by the B4 update. That they have been corrected. I decided to buy the kit anyhow and when my servo covered popped out the washer was totally disconnected and fell out. The washer was also warped. After the new servo install and driving around for a few times the car now shifts perfect and smooth. It's a shame that Volvo didn't do more to correct this. But, anyone who has a hard shift into third gear, check your servo, even on newer cars.
