OBDII scanner recommendations?

2008 S60 2.5T 163k
Looking for a cheap one that actually works. I have an Autel OBD2 (MS300), but it just generates a "linking error".

If you already have a laptop, the best and cheapest solution is downloading the software and procuring the obdII cable.. 10 bucks I think I last saw it on ebay.

MD802 if you don't want to carry a laptop around. Does any and every car if you have a fleet.

I recently purchased an Innova 3106e to replace my old on board scanner. It can read generic, factory, abs, srs, ect..
It has real time live data, can erase ABS/SRS/CEL/Service required light. Has USB plug for interface with network for data update.

Used on my 2000 V70XC/se, I had a 98 V70XC which was almost identical except the 2000 has an electronic throttle body with coil packs instead of mechanical TB with dizzy. You can reset ABS light, the service light, reset SRS light, you can check for factory specific data/dtc/I/m monitors/real time live feed, can test battery/alternator/charging system. The list goes on, it's perfect for Volvo owners, it has Volvo specific data already uploaded from the store and you can sync with your PC/laptop for updates. Google it.

Any other recommendations? Looking for a cheap one that will work on a 2008 S60 and 2005 S80. Autel MS300 has a linking error.

Really any one that works on 2005s and newer should be fine
MAKE SURE THAT YOURS WORKS WITH THAT YEAR AND NEWER.
The system changed with 2005s and the older models and some cheaper models won't work

Consider trying the App w/t dongle? This approach might be the least expense out of pocket and net you the reader with the option for powertrain DTC resetting that you're seeking.
