99 v70 timing problem

Hi i have a 1999 Volvo v70r awd 2.3t and i had a exhaust valve burn up so i had new valves put in and valve seals but i just got the head back today but don't know how to set the timing. The crank was accidentally turned since i had the head off so idk if cylinder 1 is supposed to be at top dead center or what. any advice would be much appreciated.

There are two tiny, fine notches on the timing belt sprocket on the crank pulley. These should be centered on a similarly tiny bump cast into the engine block, which you can feel with your fingers.

The marks are very tiny. They are pictured here:

You will also need to deal with the CVVT preload which can be tricky, particularly if you removed CVVT hub from the camshaft itself in the process of doing this job.

Post back if you removed the hub or not and I can post the appropriate directions to set the preload.

If the crankshaft moved just a bit then you should be fine just moving it back. If it moved more than a little then you will need to walk it back into place by alternately rocking the crankshaft and the camshafts to get clearance. Don't force things.

Once the crankshaft is at the timing marks the camshafts will rotate a full 360 degrees.
