Installing a new air intake

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

Installing a new air intake

Post by srnkanator »

I recently purchased a ram air filter (anybody have experience with these?) and am attempting to do the install myself. I am assuming that it connects to the old intake which comes from the turbo air filter box to right in front of the radiator. How does the install go? Do I need extra tubing or can the "short" filter connect directly to the box? Will it really give me a couple of extra horses? I really wont be getting "cold air" sice I live in Houston and its always f'in hot and humid. Any advice would be appreciated.

"intakes" give no extra power, per se. They just look nice. :P

where did you get yours? I have the www.eurosporttuning.com intake, and it's a decent setup, it cleans up the engine bay, in my opinion, and it allowed me to mount my Aquamist setup nicely.
