2007 s60 2.5t awd - no start, now Vida info

Post by cousin_niko »

Hi all,

Last summer during the extreme summer heat, my car developed a long-start. It only occured when cold/overnight and didnt happen after warmed up. Unfortunately, I didn't take action then.

Near the end of the summer, my car would not start. I got 2 initial codes in the dash display, Cam Position Sensor and Crank Position Sensor.
  • Cam position sensor - replaced
    Crank position sensor - replaced
Still no start, now another one appeared "Reduced Engine Performance".
I tested fuel at the fuel rail and got no pressure.
  • Fuel Pump - replaced
*EDIT* PEM - replaced (I wrongly stated that I replaced the CEM originally)
Still no fuel pressure, still no start - expensive guess work at that. Now I needed a new battery!
  • Battery - replaced
    Volvo DICE/Vida - obtained
Now, I have results but am having trouble comprehending ..

I have not delved into Vida too much yet, I just got this information. But thought I would share my story here, in hopes maybe someone has experienced something like this and has advice for a path or things to consider.

Thanks

After realizing my mistake (I was confusing my replacement of PEM with CEM).. I replaced the PEM along with the fuel pump.

I did not replace the CEM - or have it 'repaired'. Considering my mistake after the original post, I suppose its safe to assume the CEM is the culprit of this?

Thanks again!
