So I spent like 4 hours trying to replace my Motor Mounts. I did get the front one done (the one under the Timing belt) and the torque stabilizer that mounts to the AT. I even had that nasty "front" liquid filled one kinda out, it was moving freely, but after 2 hours I gave up on trying to pull it out. Any ideas? Looks like easy to do with the radiator hose disconnected. I tried moving the wire loom down there and also tried to move the fan (but the lower nuts were extremely rusty and I could barely reach them, so I gave up on that).
Ben makes it look so easy in that FCP video, but it ain´t.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Clemens

Yeah, Baby Boy Ben sure makes everything look easy.
Did you use two jacks? I used one under the oil pan and one under the transmission (with large pieces of wood in between) to lift both sides of the engine evenly.
You say you removed and swapped the side (timing belt) mount, I think I did that one last since you need that one to be disconnected to lift the engine pretty high up. I was scared at how high I had to lift the engine... But hey, you only live once...
Also, I couldn't pull the front mount up. I had to push it down. Did you try to push it down?
Full disclosure, I did this on an N/A manual transmission one... so I had about 13,890 less hoses and lines than most...

I guess it was all my fault cuz I didn't wear my Ben lookalike sweater (i happen to have the same one he is wearing in most videos which is funny cuz i bought it 15 years ago).
No, i didn't try to push it down, the engine wasn't up that high. I was scare to break something. I might have to do that again or hand it to my indie and watch him fix it.
Btw., the front rubber mount (timing belt) was disconnected completely.
Also, while down there i realized my turbo is covered in oil as is the inside of my turbo to IC pipe. Looks like my turbo is up for a rebuild. Great chance to shine again ...

Always, always, always wear the sweater.Clemens wrote:I guess it was all my fault cuz I didn't wear my Ben lookalike sweater
In all seriousness, I jacked the car up pretty high. (Again, I couldn't believe it because it looks like Baby Boy Ben only has to jack it up an inch or so!) I believe the only thing you need to really be on the lookout for are axles popping out.

Thanks! I'll give that a shot again as soon as my T5M is registered properly. Then i have a backup car in case everything takes a bit longer.
