Do repair manuals exist anymore?

Post by CedBobKing »

I grew up in the 80's with Haynes and Betnley repair manuals. Does such a thing exist for the '06 V70 2.5T? I saw an UK version on Amazon that may or may not cover the US version 2.5T. Does VIDA provide a factory manual in the package or does it just show ECM/TCM data?

Thanks,

Cedric

I wanted a Haynes manual for our 2003 V70 and 2005 S80 and found they didn't make a U.S. version so I purchased the UK version. It has still been a worthwhile resource and not a waste of money. I just open it to the page I want and hold it up to a mirror. Just kidding about the mirror, but the book is still quite applicable to the LH drive cars.

Get the Haynes, its useful enough and England needs the money.!
I was born in England with bonnets, jubilee clips and tyres.

Prefer Haynes on occasion, its easier to flip thru pages than navigate PDF CD's or VIDA.
For me the best resource is here and youtube for the visual.

You can get VIDA INFO via an Alldata DIY subscription for about $15 per year and print out the pages you need for the shop.

Haynes has some errors, mist memorable was the firing order mistake in the P80 manual

It looks like the VIDA DVD's only work on Windows based machines. Are there any options for Mac users? Or do I need to setup a virtual machine?

I don't know about Haynes, but Chiltons (competitor to and tended to be a little better than Haynes) is an online subscription based service now, like Alldata. I wouldn't be surprised it's all the same reference material from OEs and they sell access to it under license/royalty agreements.

Volvo Vida, Alldata DIY, Mitchell 1 DIY.

On a Mac it has to be done in a virtual machine.
If you use a Dice also, make sure to update the VM to support USB 2.0.
