2001 S60 A/C not cold passenger side

this is base model with left/right manual temp controls.
had it fixed recently and they replaced expansion valve. cold air blowing from driver side but not passenger.
I tried cycling the heat control and i can hear the motor move but the movement in the close direction sounds like it moves, stops and moves some more.
anyone pulled one of these out and looked at the travel as it goes from cold to hot and back.
VIDA picture shows just a motor, no linkage for passage side. If I take out motor, can I manually close the temp door on the passenger side?

I saw write up of one guy cleaning grease out of motor to allow it to find the index positions.

I would just bring it back to where you had it fixed and let them fix it because it shouldn't be doing that after it was fixed. But most times when what you are explaining is happening it means that your AC system is low in freon. If the AC system is low in freon the right-side of the evaporator never gets cold enough to cool the passenger-side of a dual-climate controlled vehicle. If you want to try fixing it yourself and you have a good AC pressure gauge, I would first check that the low-side pressure is between 23psi and 29psi. I have found 27psi is just right for 01 - 02 S60(s). If you don't have a good AC pressure gauge don't try to add more freon without knowing how much freon is already in the system. If you just have a simple AC refill line and don't have funds to pay a garage to refill the AC system, you could always drain the system from the low-side, and simply add 1 small can of pag oil 8oz, when adding it, keep the can in the upright position when charging, then add 2 / 12 oz cans of 134a freon, that's like $14.00 dollars at walmart. I say that because 1 8oz can of pag oil and 2 / 12 oz cans of 134a freon, fully charges an 01 to 07 s60 from a dead empty system, perfectly, the same goes for 01 to 07 v70, v70xc(s)

A bit confusing, do you have Manual climate control with wire control or Electronic climate control with a setting of " AUT" on the dial or an "AUT" button?

If you have AUT then it's almost certainly a damper motor issue.

Is the air from the passenger side merely ambient temperaure or is it blowing heated air? With the engine warmed up, if turning the temperature up full hot on that side makes a difference/blows heated air then the damper motor is likely fine and it's most likely a Freon pressure or system issue as outlined by Fataqui.

They replaced your expansion valve. For what reason? It wasn't blowing cold air? What else did or didn't they do?
