Went out to go replace my power steering pump today and haven't had any issues opening the hood before. Tried to pop the hood and as usual with the v70's one side didn't want to go so i placed my wallet under the grill to help pop it the rest of the way up. This didn't do the trick this time. Fought with the thing for over two hours and still cannot get it to go and to top it all off at the end of it the cable inside the car frayed and snapped. I have no clue as to what to do at this point, any trick or ideas?

There is a thread similar to this where they suggest going through the turn signal, and if that doesn't work, through the headlight.

In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.

The turn signal won't have the access you need. That headlight disassembly procedure is pure genius!
