00 S70 GLT SE engine mount removal issue
Hi folks! I'm trying to get my car back in shape and I'm at the engine mount portion of the journey. I know that the passenger side lower mount has failed and when I went to remove it, I found that the rear bolt has been sheared off at the head. Since this is the one that goes into the block, how would I go about removing it without doing damage? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Hey rondo... sorry to hear about that issue. Those are steel bolts threaded into aluminum so they're tricky...
Seems like you're going to have to drill them out and, if necessary, retap the threads (or use an insert...).
Luckily it seems like you broke a bolt that you can access relatively easily. Secure the engine with a piece of wood and a jack.
Use a center-punch.
Use left handed drill bits, start with the smallest to the largest. Making sure to lubricate the threads as much as possible. This set has been good to me.

If it comes out, you're in great shape.
If it doesn't, drill out to the next biggest size and retap the threads. Get a tap and die set. Sears as some, so does amazon... Tekton makes decent tools for the money. Great customer service, too.

There are videos on this process on Youtube. Good luck and keep us posted.
