I just got a nice 89 240 for a good price. It does not come with cruise control.
Would it be practical to try to get one from a junkyard? What parts would I have to rob?
Or is there a decent aftermarket cruise that will do the job?
Thanks
Dave

Some years ago, when visiting USA, I bougth an aftermarket cruice control Audiovoice CCS100. That has been working good. Got all parts needed for the installation and a good installation manual. It is also good to buy the adviced canister tank, the vacuum is not to good in the Volvo engine.

I recently added a factory cruise control to my 740 which came out of another 1986 740 I found in a junk yard. My Haynes manual listed all the components included in the system. I carefully found and pulled each piece out. I found that my car was prewired for the factory parts. I installed all the parts where they were suppose to go, found all the wire connectors in my car and hooked them up. The system works perfectly. Nothing wrong with trying to find one in a wrecking yard. Search this forum for my post on the subject.
