Gearbox Oil on Manual V70
Hi fellow Volvo peoples.....I want to check the Gearbox Oil on my 2001 V70 T5. I have to remove the under wing guard on the Nearside it would seem. Is it screwed on with Cross Head / Slot / Allen screws OR simply with pushed on clips?? All mudded up at the moment so can't really see! Any help with accessing the Gear Housing Oil Plugs would be gratefully received. Many thanks. RR.

The plastic lining inside the wheel arches is held by blind rivets along the wheel arch and one or two plastic nuts inside behind the wheel. There's an access flap in the lining as well behind a piece of metal stuck on by the plastic nuts. Not sure if that's enough though, it is on the other side to reach the lower belt gears.RantingRobbo wrote: ↑22 Dec 2017, 09:40 Hi fellow Volvo peoples.....I want to check the Gearbox Oil on my 2001 V70 T5. Hey, thanks for that info. Why are Haynes manuals so rubbish?? Firstly in the correct edition for my Model, they said that the plastic linings must be removed to check gearbox oil - I thought that they looked like rivets after my further look! Secondly, on my Model - again as covered in the Manual - you do NOT need to remove the plastic lining to get at the two plugs. Clearly visible and could even get a socket all the way through to undo easily.......... Happy days, job done!!
