I have a 2008 V70 3.2 Liter. I ran was getting a Poor engine performance alert so I ran my OBD II. I got 3 codes: P 0190 code, also getting P2118(throttle actuator control motor current range/performance) and P2106 (Throttle actuator control system-Forced limited power)
I replaced the fuel pressure sensor (Bosch part # ending in 238 although I removed the part # ending in 110). I don't know why the sensor is the one that should be on the 2.5 when I have a 3.2. We ran the VIN at the NAPA parts store and it came back with the sensor that I bought and replaced with no difference. I am now looking for an external fuel filter and I can't find one either. Any other ideas?
P0190, P2118,P2106 on my 2008 V70 3.2 L Topic is solved

For the P0190 there are only two things that can cause that. Fuel pressure sensor or defective wiring. Check for opens and shorts in the wiring harness.
A sticky or blocked throttle body can cause P2118 which in turn can set P2106. Start with cleaning the inside of the throttle body.

Thanks for your response. I replaced the fuel pressure sensor, cleared the codes with my ODB II tool, and that seemed to fix it. I had seen a Youtube video about a weak battery creating bad codes as well, and it turns out that my battery (2years 8 months old) was not up to snuff so I changed it out. I am going to clean the throttle body next. Any preferences on chemicals? Sea foam, CRC, Lucas? I am also having trouble locating any type of Haynes repair manual for 2008 V70 3.2 liter. What is up with that?
Thanks again for your advice!

Not enough market to make one worth stocking. Just about everybody that works on Volvos, professional and DIY uses Volvo VIDA as the repair manual and DiCE as the diagnostic interface for model years 1999-2015.
Tons of information on Volvo VIDA/Dice here
Just about any Carb cleaner will do. Spray some on and wipe off that way you don't flood the engine with the cleaner.

I bought an Innova OBD II tool some time ago for the Volvo. I had no idea that Volva had a special VIDA DICE tool. Can you tell me what makes them different, or for that matter, what VIDA and DICE stand for? My apologies but I am ignorant in these matters.

VIDA = Vehicle Information and Diagnostics for Aftersales.
DiCE = Diagnostic Communication Equipment.
It is the diagnostics software and hardware used by the Volvo dealerships.
You can download the software and a patch to make VIDA work.
You can get DiCE clones from may sources including eBay. Stay away from the striped down versions, go for one that has a full chipset.
Vida also does double duty as a service manual. VIDA can be use without a DiCE, you will have access to a ton of information but, to do diagnostic scans you will need a DiCE also.
The VIDA you can download is good for model years 1999-2015.x. Newer cars require the online version of VIDA. The online version is to cost prohibitive for DIY and shade tree mechanics.

P0190 code just came through in my 2008 xc70, can’t get to my mechanic for another two days. Think my car will be ok to drive in the meantime? Thanks
Yes you can drive it, it most likely is the fuel pressure sensor as stated in this post and many others. For some reason they get damaged often on these cars. I would recommend changing asap since it does affect efficiency and sometimes the engine drops RPMs while driving.4traindays wrote: ↑11 May 2019, 10:52 P0190 code just came through in my 2008 xc70, can’t get to my mechanic for another two days.
