Sometimes, torque delivery at mid range feels almost flat in a 98 C70

Post by Penta »

Hi Volvo mates.

Car runs fine but sometimes i can't feel all the boost at mid range, other times, especially when outside temp it's hot, my C70 feels a lot more punchy at mid range, asi it should be in this engines. Fuel consumption is good, everything works fine.

CBV is new
TCV is new
I replaced spark plugs (OEM Volvo), spark wires (Bougicord), distributor cap and rotor (Bosch).

I don´t know where is the problem. Boost leak? I don't think so. Bad MAF?

Thanks and greetings from spain.

Would be hard for a boost leak to be temp dependant sounds more like an issue somewhere between the MAF and ECU, either MAF is starting to wear out or ECU is getting good data but overcompensating for the lower hp of warmer weather.

Is still check the intercooler hoses though.

I'd try cleaning the MAF first. I know when I cleaned mine I got a major boost in seat of the pants horsepower measurements.
Wisdom requires knowledge as a prerequisite, but knowledge can be developed due to a lack of wisdom.
In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.
