Headliner Reupholstered

Hi! So, this past week I reupholstered my headliner. There's a fantastic writeup from our brothers and sisters over at SwedeSpeed: http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread ... and-Repair . I'm just writing this post up to add a few things/pointers to the SS post, for those who may be considering doing this job. Also, the SS post is for an S40, I was easily able to apply to to my V50 (just a few extra pieces of trim to remove)

- The "oh s**t" handles are held on by 2 8mm bolts
- Garment hangers are held on by 1 10mm bolt. Once unbolted, leave them attached to headliner. Plastic retainer that holds them up needs to be removed once headline is down, or out.
- Center plastic trim piece at very back of the car (with embedded overhead light) is held on by quite a few plastic snaps, easy to pop out
- C-pillar (V50-specific) trim pieces are held on with 4 plastic trim clips. You will need to pry back the carpeted trim piece that covers the bottom of the C-pillar cover. Then pop the C-pillar piece out, and slide down (note the way the headliner inserts into the top of the C-pillar piece)

Things I would have done differently:
- Taken more time applying/adhering fabric
- Adhere fabric to headliner front to back in a 12" center strip first, then work outward front to back from the center
- Strategically wrap headliner fabric around headliner edge, in portions where no trim covers the edge

And that's it! Wasn't too bad a job, spent 4 hours, and $35 on it. It's definitely not perfect, but way better than it was before. Let me know if you have questions! Hope this was helpful.

Edit: sorry about horizontal image, can't figure out how to flip it (it's vertical on my computer)
