Horn Replacement Procedure

Post by netasp »

is there any procedure showing how to replace a horn on 2004 XC90? I removed the right head light assembly and I was able to see it but I couldn't get to the connect adapter itself as there is a bar obstructing my view...

I checked fuse # 9 and its good, when I open the hood and try to honk I hear a ticking sound every time i press the horn which tells me it might be the horn itself.

let me know. Thanks

In Vida it says to:
- remove the right hand headlamp
- remove one of the horns from the bracket to facilitate removal and installation
- slacken the screw for the bracket (probably 10mm, is an M6)
- angle out the horn and bracket
- disconnect the connector

There is no illustration in my version, but that's what it says.

There are two horns, though, so it may be a wiring or ground issue.

thank you for your reply, It will help me as i try to replace it. It will probably cost $200+ at the dealership considering the horn itself is $80...
