First post. I have recently got a 2009 C30 2.0 (petrol), and I am quite happy with it. I am writting from Spain, and I am new to this forum.
The car works great, appart form some minor scratches, the previous owner took good car of it (always preventive maintenance at the volvo dealer). Only issue: an AC line leaked, but this is sorted now.
Anyway, the car runs great but something is driving me a bit crazy, and is the rattle and vibration noises. I have located two sources of this noises:
1-The button on the hand-brake lever resonates at some rpm (I'd say around 4k), making a nasty sound. Just touching it kills the sound, but I haven't figured out a way of opening it and have a look to see what could be done. I guess replacing the srping or adding some foam to dampen vibration would do, but, can that be opened?
2- The gearshift knob vibrates (and again: a nasty sound due to resonance) at around 120km/h in 5th gear. So, at constant highway speed, I get that vibration... unless I push the knob a bit one way or another, and after some fiddling the vibration goes away. No clue of how this could be sorted (appart of driving resting my hand on it, which I won't do).
Any one have any of these issues before and/or knows how to get rid of them?
Thanks!
