VIDA/DICE Starting Out

Ok, so I have the DICE cable and 2014D disk. I am operating a 15" MacBook Pro set for dual boot with Apple Operating System and Windows 8 (64 bit) with Internet Explorer 11. Computer has 8 GB RAM, a 500 GB disk drive with ample disk space free and an i7 2 ghz processor. Any reason I shouldn't be able to get VIDA/DICE to operate in that environment? I really don't want to go the virtual machine route if I can avoid it. Always found it to be cumbersome. P.S. If you can't already tell, I am not fundamentally a tech guy.
