I described my oil leak in a previous thread and now it is time to replace seals since I need to do timing belt anyway.
I would like to have seal install tools on hand so I don't have to worry about the lip problem. I have looked at Robert's tools that he is having made and can easily make some myself. Seems like this would be a common topic.
Can any of you techs post the tool dimensions for the P2 series cam seals(both VVT and non-VVT) install tool.
Also, the crank seal tool (9995747)
S60 NA new timing belt, cam seals, oil pump gasket, crank seal

So not one reply regarding tools for seal install.
The mandrel for the crank seal/oil pump is tool 9995455. A search online showed this tool used to be offered by 3rd party tool suppliers and now I can't find a single company who sells one. I have access to lath and can make one up if I had dimensions of Volvo's factory tool. anyone have access to one of these?

Be very careful not to scratch the rods when removing the seals. I got this lip seal puller delivered from FCP yesterday and it appears good enough to pull a seal.

replaced cam seals and oil pump gasket/o-ring plus crank seal when doing timing belt. used installer tools for all the seals. started it today and looks like exhaust cam seal leaks. these cars are a total PITA. do the seals easily pop out of their bores. I checked crank pressure. negative at 1000 rpm but will inflate a nitrile glove over the oil filler if rev to 2500 rpm. 118k on the motor with oil changes every 5k. hard to believe the PCV system is the problem source. maybe but I'm ready to be done with Volvos

The cam seals get popped out by excess crankcase pressure. You’ve got to fix root cause, not the symptom.

do they really get pushed out of the bore or just partial and enough to leak? Is the new timing belt toast once it gets oil coated?
If it helps, I recently bought an OEM one of this tool from the Netherlands for around $97.

It arrived very fast to the US, as advertised.

They can get ejected with excess pressure.ashgoldS60 wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 14:10 do they really get pushed out of the bore or just partial and enough to leak? Is the new timing belt toast once it gets oil coated?
If the TB is oil soaked, replace it.

Is it a wonder that no-one here uses factory tools? With costs approaching triple digits on some of them we have found home-made alternatives or aftermarket copies.
