V70 2.4 has my ETS died again

Hi all, just found this site while trying to do some research and figure out what's up with my car. It's a 2.4 V70 just over 150k miles, been in the family since new.

The other day I was driving home from work and suddenly the car lost power, ETS light came on. I crawled back home at around 25 mph as it wouldn't go any faster. Then I got a code reader and read the ECU codes, below is what has been read.

P0171 System too lean, bank 1
P0225 Throttle position (TP) sensor C/accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor C -circuit malfunction
P0220 Throttle position (TP) sensor B/accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor B -circuit malfunction
P1603 Electronic throttle system (ETS)- range/performance problem
P1620 ETS warning lamp output – intermittent signal
P1610 Electronic throttle system (ETS)- throttle valve command/actual throttle valve position, correlation
P1670 Immobilizer control module – communication error/tampering/code error
P1621 Instrumentation control module, real time clock – communication malfunction

I believe some of these codes arent related, but does P1603, P1620 and P1610 usually point to a bad throttle body. It was rebuilt a couple of years ago and should have warranty, I just want to know if that is the issue before removing and posting back.

Try clearing all the codes, then have a VIDA report of the ETB sensor positions

They rarely go suddenly in my limited experience, they give 5000-10000 miles warning

Thanks for the response, I should have said, it did have this issue about 2 years and 20,000 miles ago. The car became almost undrivable, no local garage could fix it and I ended up sending the throttle body away to be rebuilt.

Last Friday when this happened again, I was on my way home from work and that was on a busy dual carriageway with a 70 mph limit, so being stuck at 30 wasn't fun or safe. It has happened another two times since then so I have parked it up and borrowed a relatives car until I can get it resolved.

The rebuilds should last 100,000 miles or more, but they can be botched of course. My current yellow replacement has 100k on it

The throttle-related codes look like a possible failed ETM. Clear em and see what comes back. It looks like you've got some other issues as well.

Yea I know at least 3 of those issues are unrelated. The ETM has a life time warranty apparently so I have removed and boxed up, supplie are sending a courier to collect it tomorrow.

If they say it is broken beyond repair, what are my options?

You can still get new ones from FCP, but they should honor the warranty of course.

Unless you guys Brexit, when all warrantys become null and void.

Thought I had replied but I mustn't have pressed post.

I spoke to BBA on Friday, they advised that the wiring inside the tb has failed and the unit is beyond repair.

They can supply a new one and will subtract the cost I originally paid for repair, from the full price. The new (used) one will then come with lifetime warranty.

It's going to cost £3-400 to fix a carwhats only worth a bit more, but I like it so I will. I guess this is my best option?
Shame they can't be bypassed and fitted with a manual throttle and cable.

You probably did post, but it seems some posts had been lost in the site maintenance that's been happening over the past few days.

I wish it was that easy! I'd have already done that on my V70R.

Finally got the replacement part today, it had to come from Italy.

Will it need VIDA or Volvo to code it in? Or can I fit it and get a mobile mechanic with a OBD computer to come and sort it?
