89 240 B230F LH 2.4 M47 Convert to Carb

Post by Iyoy »

Hi, I acquired a non running 89 240 GL, M47, B230F LH 2.4 (originally). Previous owner stripped LH 2.4 components except harness and intake plenum. He fabricated a crude adapter to which he bolted on a Weber 32/36 carburetor. He claims to have gotten it to run with this setup. I plan to accumulate all the LH 2.4 parts and restore the original setup eventually. In the meantime, I have purchased a conversion kit that has a proper Pierce manifold and a new Weber 32/36. This kit is advertised as specific for B230. I will use the in tank pump, bypass the inline high pressure pump and install a regulated low pressure pump specific for carburetor applications. I am now trying to figure out how to manage the ignition system in order to get this to work. Specifically, what ignition control unit to use and how to connect it. Any suggestions or advise? Thanks
