Engine replacement

Post by Mattvh »

Hi again and thank you for previous help. I have a 2000 v70 that needs an engine. I found one from a 2002 v70. Both are the five cylinder 2.4 litter turbo. The 2002 engine comes with transmission. Would anybody know if this is a good replacement as fair as years go? I’m still learning, but think 2000 is different to 2002 in body but not sure in other areas like electric and computer etc...

The 2002 transmissions may be fragile as far as I know so you may wan to stick on yours. The P2 engines - not sure if it fits - but should be reliable, as long as it doesn't leak at the cam seals or main seal - from a blocked PCV. Also the oil pan o-rings were trouble free in the P2. You'll want to replace the PCV before swapping if it looks like the original one

Ok thank you for your response, and making sure to replace PCV. I can ask seller about that to see if that has been done. Certainly with engine out, I can do that. Well also use my transmission.
