Volvo S60 2003 Transmission

EDIT: I forgot to mention my current trans slips a lot around 3rd gear. I installed the B4 servo cover but the issue remained.

My car also has new brakes, axle, ignition coils, spark plugs and tires. I don’t really want those parts to go to waste so that’s also a factor.

So I’m basically wondering whether I should fix my transmission (seals and gaskets/it’s leaking) or just get a used transmission and install it. My motor has 222k on it but it’s been on highways most of its life and has been taken really good care of.

I can get a transmission for around $500 USD and I already have the tools to install it.

My other options is to just buy the gaskets and seals, hope they fix the leak and let my car die slowly with the mileage.

I’m not currently in a position where a new car is an option. The transmission would max out how much I can spend currently.

Best case scenario for me is to keep this car going for as long as possible, the motor runs strong still.

Do assure that the engine and body are good to justify transmission work .. I'll guess that you have an Aisin-Warner unit - IMO, excellent . I'd reseal the old transmission . .IF it passes the tests ..
