I think I know the answer, but is there any way to replace the stock radio in my 2009 XC70 with a way that Bluetooth music can be played? The radio currently only Bluetooths with the phone to make a call.
Since the temperature controls and parking assist are integrated, my guess is no.

Read the 2012 XC70 owner's manual.
You can play music from the phone via the Bluetooth connection. You can play Audio or Video files from USB or a burned disk.

'09 XC70: Look in your center console glove box for the optional external audio source ports (AUX,USB, iPod).
If you do not have them you might want to look into installing the option.
Sure would be better them hacking the Audio system.

If you have an AUX port (which I think you will at the age of the car) you can easily add a Bluetooth receiver. There’s loads on eBay/Amazon. It’s the easiest and cheapest way of adding music streaming. I would try and find one without hands free personally so there’s no fighting over your existing Bluetooth handsfree and the audio receiver. This one would do, power it from USB from the lighter socket and jobs done! This one does receive AND transmit. You’d want receive to pass the audio from your phone to the car Stereo

Hello, I bought an Android radio that fits in the original spot of the RTI navigation system, and it's plug-and-play. Everything works fine, but the steering wheel controls are not functioning. In the wiring harness, there are cables labeled Key1 and Key2. I need to connect them to the original cables from steering wheel controls. I'm not an electrician, but I can handle it—I just need to know where to connect these two cables. Maybe an electrical diagram or some information about the cable colors would help me. If someone could help, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks for the help!

Similar Issue on the same car, I'm looking to replace the aftermarket radio, but I'm worried about the settings in the center console (it's literally how you program new car keys, so if I lose a key I need to put it BACK IN, PROGRAM IT), I currently have AUX and would prefer a USB port or working Bluetooth. I know I could just get a cord to link the AUX into USB or some wizardry like that, but I'd prefer it to charge and AUX doesn't give charge it only takes data, so why not use the little Bluetooth transmitter with a charger in the cigarette lighter? Every single one I get is buzzy, so much interference, it's better to not listen at all or resort to CDs which is its own mess of storage. I am willing to tear up my car and put it back together again if it means I can play uninterrupted music and charge my phone at the same time, I just need some advice thank you.
