Hello Everyone

First time posting
I'm in process of going back together after reworking the head from a timing belt jumping time.
I noticed it was sticking out from the cam cover an it looked suspicious to me.

2008 Volvo S40 2.4L non turbo

My question is concerning my V.V.T. solenoid . Is It Bad it seems to be extended out way to far

Or do I need to plug the connector on it and power it up to retract it ?

I attached a picture of mine and one I found on web.

Any info would be appreciated greatly.

Wes

Bumpo

I opted to replace the VVT solenoid with new one.
The baby started right up and is running smoothly.

Thanks Wes
