Blinker failure

I have a 1998 V70 wagon, I replaced the driver side blinker and it worked until I turned the lights on. The blinker light on the dash stayed on. I then started messing with the replaced bulb, and now it doesn't work when I use the blinker. Without it, the lights seem to be working fine. Anyone know what it could possibly be?

It's not the bulb. I pulled the bulb from the front passenger side and tried it on the other side and didn't work. But the new bulb that wasn't working worked fine on the passenger side. I have already check all of the fuses as well, no problems there

Thought you might have been changing the tail directional.
That one is a little unusual...

The problem started off sounding like a grounding issue,
but if it quit completely, be sure that the socket and contacts
are nice and clean. From there, start chasing the wiring back
to the firewall.

Could be the hazard switch, exercise it, if it’s the cause replace or clean it

Is the tail light blinker on the driver’s side working?
I would expect a fast blink, but if it’s flashing, your
hazard switch is probably OK.

Everything but the driver's side front blinker works fine

Do you have a multi-meter? or at least a test light?

My drivers side blinker stopped working when water seeped into the socket panel and rusted the contacts. The best way to check that is with a continuity tester or multi-meter. You can remove the socket panel and probe the continuity between the plug pins and the bulb contact points. I replaced the panel with a clean one from the junk yard and a year later that one stopped working too. The rubber o-ring seal around the perimeter of the socket panel wasn't tight enough. To fix that I used plumbers teflon tape to beef up the seal. After several years that's still keeping the socket dry.

I have a similar problem with my drivers side tail-lights, initially caused by water in the lens. basically the Brake and Turn signals are shorted somehow and when it's acting up the Brakes interfere with the turn signal, I've drilled drainage holes in the lens, sealed the top/sides with silicone, and cleaned the bulb sockets with some steel wool, that relieves the symptoms for a little while, but it comes back and I have to clean the bulb sockets again.
