Starter differences/imterchange?

HI all- back in a Volvo again! I am rehabbing a neglected 2001 V70xc.
Question- will the starter from a 96 850 work in this?
I have one in stock, it bolted right up- physically looks the same but I havent tried to turn it over because the pan is still out and the intake is off.

ANy thoughts?

Part 8251551 Will work

One of the few that fits p80 through P2, 1094-2007 ( chassis break on the 2007)

Yes

Negative battery terminal gets disconnected first of course. The starter terminal is always hot , connects direct to battery
