Droning sound while idling

Droning sound while idling

Hey guys I have a noise that I've never had before. While the car is idling there is an intermittent droning noise coming from the area around the intake and fuel injectors. It comes and goes with no real pattern that I can find. Thought it was the ac when it comes on but it happens with the ac off too. The sound is almost like bass from a subwoofer or something.

Look at the Alternator clutch pulley. Sometimes they go bad and will walk back and forth on the shaft. Makes a sound that can be described as droning.
