hi everyone!
back at it again on this topic. the main culprit being the boot near brake pedal is not the issue.
it has gotten cold here in new england, as such, i'm noticing cold air flow in my cabin and feet are freezing on highway due to this cold draft.
*heating system works great, pumping hot air, to be clear.
today, i had my windshield replaced, while the cowl was removed, i noticed the blower motor housing box "flap" was in an "open position" when i went to see if i could manually close or open...it is stuck.
the question - is this normal to be in this open position, all the time? Any insight would be helpful.
my thought process - could this be the culprit to the cool draft i've been getting the past couple years since owner ship?
thank you.

In that position it pulls air from the outside. If you press the recirculation button that flap will close.
Could be a bad damper motor. I think that specific motor isnt too hard to replace. Also check that the lever that pulls on the door hasnt come off.

thanks kallekula!
that's valuable insight. i should have tried the recirculate button while the cowl was still removed!!
though, what i will do to rule it out is utilize the recirculate button/function next cold drive, and report back if that fixes the issue.
if not, i'll look further into the damper motor variable, as the price cost is reasonable. If anyone has had any luck experience replacing this damper motor, or a similar "cold feet" scenario they have fixed, i'm all ears.
thank you.
