The 2004 V70 with 120K miles uses 235-45-ZR17.
Time for new tires.
What brand/type are you guys using?
I have had good luck with Continental in my 1998 BMW 528i, but it is expensive at $145/each.
I wonder if Riken is any good?
I put together a brief pic from Tirerack website to show you guys what I am thinking about.
From what I was looking at, the price runs from ~ $80 to $150 and up...

Tire Rack. I paid $109 for continental Grand Touring all season. 205 55R16.
I'm fed up of tires deflating overnite and ruining the sidewalls so I bought a tire changer $85 amazon (not the HF flimsy version) and did it myself, cleaned the rims with wire brush in a drill, its not difficult to DIY.
Also got a bubble balancer but it came out dead to nuts, I left the wheel weights in place.
I suspect the weights are for the rim as tires are made a lot better than in the past and don't need hardly any compensation.
Installed TPMS on the valve stems to keep an eye on all the tire pressures.
No more tire problem.

I have the Continental Extreme Contact in that size on my V70. One of the best tires I have ever put on a car.
I agree they are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. If I remember right, they are even made in the US.

We run ours on Pirelli Scorpion (alternatively ATR) ; it truly lasts.

Conti ExtemeContact - I had them on my V70 R and now on my Alltrack. Good tires.

MDK here..It's interesting that that you ask that. I just put 4 new ones on my R car. So I put on a set of Barum's. They're made by Continental via Chec republic. 431$ with mount/ balance/ disposal of old ones.A good all season and actually got a better wet traction rating than Pirelli. I went with 225-45-17's. Drivers choice. You know.

I just bought Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack. Very pleased with them and yes they are pretty quiet. Bought them from costco and they came with an 80K mile warranty.
