Heater core bypass electronic valve

Post by darylrobert »

Problem: air that comes out of vents is warmer (@ 5-10c) than outside air. Not always ideal to use air conditioner or opening sunroof/windows.

Passengers ask "have you got the heating on, im hot"

Ive tested the flap valves and i think they close fully but i think its still leaking hot air, i really cant see inside.

Has anyone bypassed the heater core similar to the older volvos ? i cant think of anything else that would heat the air so consistently other than the heater matrix/core.

Here is a electronic valve i plan to test my theory. i think its a simple on/off switch
