Does this clear codes?

Post by viper69 »

Does operating the little LED based computer under the hood clear the amber check engine light? Would hate to bring car to shop if they won’t be able to read the code.

I have no idea why my 850 is going back to the shop.

Here’s the history of the past 3 weeks, 2 visits

1. Check engine light on- Replaced throttle sensor.
2. 24 hr after picking it up, check eng. light goes off
They did get a code, not sure of the code, but they cleaned connections for throttle switch. Test drove it- chk engine light didn’t go back on

4 hours later after #2 check engine light goes AGAIN

Thanks- but I’m not looking to clear the code

I want to know if I use the computer under the hood to see what code I have- will that process clear the code too?

If you instruct it to clear the codes it will clear. Code will come back if you have not corrected the defect.
