Sluggish then nothing. When I removed the starter there was oil on top of the Bendix part of the starter. I took my old starter to auto zone and they said it was good. So I put that back in bc the cheep starter the wire had broken from the solinoid.. I'm getting now nothing just a click. Fuel pump is running all lights and fan work. What's going on? At a loss

Have you tried the starter bypass to rule out the ignition switch and wiring?
You can also put 12 Volts directly into the small starter terminal with a wire by touching it to the poisotive battery terminal. Make sure you are out of gear and brake is on so you don’t run yourself over ( leave key out for this test)

Wonky contact on the little spade terminal connection is always a good place to look, too. Sometimes it can pretend to be making but still be too loose to pass all the necessary voltage.
