Volvo 740 Wagon WHISTLING!

Post by Michaejalopy »

My 1990 740 Volvo Wagon whistles..... it increases in pitch as I speed up.... Maybe it's from the cold weather? I live in Canada and it's been about minus 20 Celcius lately..... any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks. --freezing in Canada!

You don't mention what conditions the whistle occurs, but the 700 series is famous for the windshield molding coming loose which creates a whistle as vehicle speed increases. You can fasten it down by replacing the broken clips, (which is a real pain) or just use some small dabs of silicon sealer (adhesive) and "glue" the trim back on.
