keyless entry

Post by richardgengle »

i am trying to install keyless entry into my 2004 v70. I am looking for advice.

i think there are 4 ways it could be done.

1. find wire on electronic door lock control module, and apply 12v? gnd?
2. find wire on the master switch on the door, and apply 12v? gnd?
3. attach a solenoid plunger attached to the door rod
4. figure out how to program a fob?
5. get the keyless fob and electronic module from a junkyard car, and plug it into my car

Any suggestion on how i could get keyless entry on my 2004 v70?

With almost 100% certainty, I’ll go out on a limb to say that your car came with and still has functional keyless entry. After being handed down from its original owner (a couple times, likely), it’s very possible you no longer have the original switchblade key or key fob (remote).

I would suggest that the best way to revive this feature would be to have new key blades cut & have one of our senior ranking members (Yagger) mate the key remote & transponder(s) to your vehicle.
