Good ground point for radios in V70 dashboard?
What's a good electrical grounding point in a 2000 V70 dashboard? I'm finally going to install my two car radios and switch so must ground those three things. Is it a good idea to connect the radio wiring harness grounds to that point as well? Thanks.

All the grounds run through the big colourEd connectors. I would ground to the two side ring terminals, I think.

Thank you! I had seen that ground diagram before but couldn't find it. I'll write up my install in the Car Audio forum once it's done. It's the same setup I used for decades in my last V70, but I'm finally installing it in my new one.

I located ground point 31/15 in my 2000 V70. It's behind the front passenger's knee bolster, right above the carpet, in front of the white blower assembly. Mine has red paint on it. To access it, remove the glove compartment, unscrew the knee bolster at the glove compartment, disconnect the passenger's footwell light on the knee bolster, and remove the bolster.
Does anyone know the width of that bolt? Abscate, could you check on a parts car? It's a 10mm hex head, requiring a wrench since a socket won't fit. I'm trying to get properly sized ring terminals to ground my radios.

Will do. Almost certainly it will be an M6, so 6 mm shank diameter

While Volvo love to do random stuff, most 10mm headed hex bolts are 6mm threads like abscate says.

Abscate confirmed that this bolt has 6mm diameter threads and a 7mm opening in its ring terminal. I'm going to use that to ground my amplifier (under the passenger's seat) and my harness containing two radios and a switch.
The Metra wiring harness for this car only uses one of the two ground pins on the radio harness. Maybe that's why I had ground loop in the past, because the ground was too weak. The harness also only uses one of the two power pins, so I might move the unused phone mute pin over to provide more gauge as a second power wire.
