Re: P80 Volvo 3D Parts Library Build
Control knobs for Electronic Climate Control (ECC). I seem to be the only one who needs this but my knobs broke at the center and the metal clips popped out. I blame decades of Texas summers. Anyway I designed 2 versions. One that requires the metal clip and one that does not. I tried to mimic the t...

Re: Turn signal indicator issue
Under the dash, to the left of the steering column,
you'll find two large distribution blocks with 5 plugs each.
The one nearest the column has a red plug in position 4.
Disconnect the negative post of the battery, then unplug
and reseat the red plug a few times. That may get it.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
The thrust bearing on the cams near cylinder 1 needs to have a giant gorp of grease or it will seize up. It’s hard steel on an aluminum head and it likes to stick
You don’t have to put on the sealer to test fitment and cam motion.
I did mine 8/9 times before I got it lubed right

Another 850 speaker upgrade - dash tweeters
Much like the rear deck speakers in my 850, the dash tweeters in my car were also totally shot, and I didn't want to waste my money on more crappy junkyard replacements. Luckily, unlike the rear deck speakers, there was a precedent for replacing the dash tweeters that got me started: https://www.swe...

Re: Metal Accordion Pipe To Air Box 1998 v70 946841, 9438274
Ye it has no motor, it is just a thermostat pushing and pulling and I think there is a return spring in there. Been a while! Neil. Hi, Yeah on a more close examination, i found it is not even a thermostat it is a vacuum actuator that opens/closes the flap(s). There are two flaps, one opens the fron...

Re: Refurbishing my AC: what to replace ?
Blow it out with compressed air or nitrogen. Replace evaporator, dryer, all o-rings, make sure to vac that sucker with a vacuum pump for at least a half hour once you establish a good vacuum. Also be prepared to replace the oil charge since you're replacing the compressor. The condenser usually on t...

Re: Refurbishing my AC: what to replace ?
In addition to what has been mentioned, it is a real swine to access but the orifice tube #14 should get replaced as it is an expansion valve and can stick or get plugged. https://www.volvooftorontoparts.ca/a/Volvo_1998_V70/54747609__5705610/Air-conditioning/GR-73985.html#28 Also recommend replacing...

When you guys are saying remotes are stored in the VGLA module, which one is it on -98 S/V70 ? The alarm module that's attached to the steering column, or the module on top of the instruments (pictured) ? https://www.usedecus.com/images/products/th/340x300_6/20170831_125145.jpg The remotes never wo...
