Re: Transmission Flush not recommended for 850's
Not an old wives tale. Using synthetic in a high mileage trans that hasn't been serviced will usually deteriorate the seals and clutches I can't speak for the clutches deteriorating; but modern synthetics will NOT harm seals. This used to be a problem when synthetic was an innovation, but they soon...

Re: V70 D-pillar speakers
Almost bought a pair on ebay last night, glad I didn't. Had my mechanic replace the PCV today, and on his lot was a 850 wagon parts car with the rear speakers. I pulled them and mounted them in my car (for free). Noticeable improvement when sitting in the back seats, slight improvement when sitting ...

So an attempt to make it better (?) would probably involve looking at anything that would transfer engine vibrations into that area: rear subfra...

Re: New Member New to Volvo
I smelled burning oil when I stopped today. The oil was near the bottom of the ok marks. I topped it off with 5w-20. Ok, I know you just put in some oil, but I think you should just do a full oil change while your at it. The engine is rated to accept 0w-30, 0w-40, 5w-30, and 10w-30. Hopefully the e...

Re: ATF JWS3309 Service Method ?
Do not add any "tune up" product to ATF. Better change ATF.
