Ha ! Yeah they're more like dust wipers here. When I bought Sveedy the washer pump hadn't worked in years and no one had noticed. I'm sure that 90 percent of the water she has seen has come out of the end of a hose.

I don't have a parts car, but I'm always looking for an excuse to go the the salvage yard. Not always much to chose from but what's there is from rust free AZ

I don't think you have any worries. If it was sold as a " kit " then I would think the tensioner was included. And 8k over 4 years is all good.
However normally the water pump is replaced along with the belt, but I think that's just because it's right there.
