I had to replace a windshield washer nozzle on my '97 855 GLT (222k miles) because one of the locking tabs broke off, allowing the nozzle to pop out of the hole.
Can you guess which nozzle is OEM and which one is a $4 aftermarket part?

They both look surprisingly crappy, but I'll go with B as the OEM.

I'll let others guess too for a short while. Nozzle B was the one that broke after having been on the car for about 10 years -- that's why it looks a little beat up.

Nozzle B is Genuine Volvo. Nozzle A is too narrow to provide the wide spray pattern original Volvo nozzles do. June

June, Sveedy, you are both correct.
Here is what Nozzle A and B look like while spraying.
Nozzle A is on the left shooting out a fairly narrow stream, and Nozzle B is on the right spraying a wide pattern. I guess I'll give the new Pro Parts Sweden (Nozzle A, left) a try for a while to see if it's good enough, or if I have to spring for a new OEM Volvo nozzle. The part number on the Volvo nozzle is 30655605. It is marked POM. The new Pro Parts nozzle is marked PA-66.

I have put 98-00 x70 nozzles on all of my 850s. Much nicer, broader spray pattern. Mine all came from the junkyard but if you're buying new, I'd get those over the 850 ones. Unless they are all the same now, which is possible.

If I recall I used P2 nozzles (I may be wrong) as the mechanics at the dealer when worked there for a few months said they were much better than P80 versions.

If I were to go and take a pic of my windshield washer sprayer, would I then qualify as a volvophile ?
