Speaking for myself, I also find that sometimes I jump before checking things out more thoroughly. I think it's something related to being human.
As my mom used to tell me - " Engage brain before putting mouth in gear."

Re: Manifold bolt broke
You should be fine. At least it's on the intake side, not the exhaust. Lots of room to work and since the intake really doesn't get hot, I doubt there would be any warping if you ended up without a bolt. If it's sticking out, then vice grips might do it. If it's flush or below the surface, then a re...

Re: Vaccines
I stand by my statement. It depends on how you perceive something. I watch what would be considered left leaning news, and I catch them being exactly that. Not as bad or blatant as Fox, but it is there none the less. Not sure that there is a true " neutral " news outlet anymore. Everyone h...

Re: A Unique Spark Plug Problem?
That's a interesting conundrum. My first thought is to glue/bond a cheap sacrificial spark plug socket to that plug and let it dry overnight. Just would want to make sure none of the glue squeeze out sticks to the head. Maybe masking tape everything off really really well first.

I seem to remember getting what ever was recommended - sealer, primer, paint, and clear coat. It has all held up fine. But I'm not sure about...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I read that new Volvo's no longer have actual oil dipsticks. Oil level all monitored by sensor.
Thanks but no thanks. Some things seem to work best mechanically, like toilets.

Re: Differences in n/a 850 Throttlebodies?
The few throttle bodies I have tinkered with had some sort of hard epoxy dabbed on to the throttle plate screws. I assumed that it was done to prevent the very rare case of one of the screws working loose and being ingested into the engine. When I switched plates I used a little loctight instead.

Re: It's time to start bulking up on 850s
I think that this will be the solution....eventually.

Re: Replacing All Engine Mounts What Order Would You Do?
When I did mine, I raised the engine just enough to make me have to use some muscle to wiggle that mount in. I felt that was a safe approach. I believe I had the one closest to the radiator installed first, but left it loose so the engine could pivot a little to do that back one. Then did the one by...
