Re: No compression on 1 - burnt valve?
Lots of work. I would also check the injectors, we don't know if they are the reason for it, but it won't hurt and is sensible imo. Maybe someone offers cleaning, or you can get refurbished ones... You an also try to clean them by yourself, build something to actuate the injector and spry carb/intak...

Re: Non-Volvo car chat megathread
Le Mans was epic. I splurged $5 for MotorTrend+ tv, which was the only place in the US to see it live. NO, I did not sit through the whole thing. I do have a tv hangover as it is. 100th anniversary of the first Le Mans. 350,000 fans. So much tradition - it starts at 4PM Saturday and runs to 4PM Sund...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Sad day today. I was hoping to go tomorrow to help my buddy salvage a steering rack for his 850 from one of the 00 V70R's in a local junkyard. He tested me tonight to say one of the cars has been pulled from the yard for crushing! Naturally the red one with the steering rack we were hoping for. For...

When you take it out this time, build up the plastic with JB Weld to prevent future cracking. Takes 10 minutes.

Our dog has always been blurry. Even as a pup he was blurry. We took him to the vet, and the vet said take him to a graphic designer.

Re: my volvo 850se journal
I strongly advise not growing old!
It sucks getting older and all the old injuries come back to haunt you with interest!
Live long and hopefully more good days than bad my friends!
Neil.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
why do folk rate those oetiker clamps? just seems daft to me that you have to use a special tool to fit or remove them when a good old fashioned jubilee clip does an excellent job and can be reused countless times should the need arise?we been using them since 1921 and still popular and even in stai...

Re: Non-Volvo car chat megathread
Well, I've painted these wheels for the second time, after dropping wet wheels in the grass (see BLOOPER thread). I waited a week, sanded them by hand back to almost primer, and did three very light, very careful coats in perfect 70 degree weather. They're as good as my skilz are gonna get. These wh...

850 Gas Tank Heat Shield Fix
My daughter came home to visit from Boston last weekend and reported a scraping sound from the car. Luckily she was close to getting off the highway and was only 15 mins from home. Her boyfriend identified a dragging heat shield as the problem. We lifted the car up and examined the situation. I didn...
