Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I use throttle body cleaner and a plastic brush. IMG_20250208_161622357_HDR.jpg On a side note; what connects to this threaded opening on the underside of the intake ? Just to the left of the ETM if installed on the car. I've never seen this car together, so I'm operating in the dark. IMG_20250208_...

Litens belt tensioner on closeout on Rockauto
I bought this too, only $36! Litens is supposed to be OE supplier. Unlike the picture, the pulley is the pressed steel with the seam in the middle.

Tom Robbins, 7/22/32 - 2/9/25
Another_Roadside_Attraction_Tom_Robbins.jpg I came home on leave late in my Excellent Adventure in the Pacific and went into downtown DC to meet Dad for lunch at my old high school hangout bar - you could still drink at eighteen back in those days. Behind the bar was one of my best friends from tha...

Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT
Love the $100 Volvo. Every time Abby scoots off to work in her $500 99, now on her 7th year, it warms the heart.

I built up the patches from the back along with the nails to give it some strength
Here is the end result from the front. Not perfect but over all I am happy with the result.

Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT
That was a lucky find indeed. That repair was inspired for the door check as well. This project is running along nicely. What turbo is it you have in the car? Is it a 13G? I have a good one that has been sitting in my garage for a long time that I had checked by a dealer foreman and he said it had n...

Re: Starting problem on '98 S-70
Most likely suspect is low fuel pressure. It can be due to the fact that backflow preventer valve is weak and pressure just dropps to 0psi after you turned off the car and let is stay for an hour or so. Could be fuel pressure regulator being at fault. Could be weak pump or weak Amp at the pump. If I...

Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT
The first perceptible feel of play by hand is about 0.001” or 0.025 Canadian thousands. That’s when you will just detect axial play on a bearing for example. I don’t know what the turbo spec is but I’m guessing is bigger than this. It spins on a film of clean oil pressure so it can probably tolerate...
