Re: 850GLT Drain Holes and Hood Gasket Cips

Not the sound pad, just the rubber gasket up front. The T shaped clips that hold the Sealing strip on are Volvo Part number 9133073. They are Multi Purpose Clips and the same ones used for the sound pad, some models used them on the upper radiator panel. You can get Genuine Volvo and After Market. ...

Re: 850GLT Paint on Side View Mirror?

Turqouise pearl is completely different, it is a blue that no one with color vision will mistake for a green.

412 is tropic green metallic. The link I gave you also includes all of the paint colors.

Re: 850 GLT What is this piece?

Personally no. I have thought about it but it never went further than that.

I know it can be done, and sure I have read about it on this forum.

I would suggest starting a new thread on the subject as you are more likely to get help or pointers.

Good luck,

Neil.

Re: Synthetic Oil-- why can't you switch back/worth it?

I would use cheap oil for a short time just to get any sludge loose. and drain when warm, before adding a good quality oil. I only use what we call synthetic oil in North America, but now I see the Shell Rotella if I can find the right grade for my car I will use than going forward. It is spec'd sim...

Re: Synthetic Oil-- why can't you switch back/worth it?

Link to 2016 what brand of oil do you use thread. On my new-to-me 2000 V70 with 200k mi, I'm planning to use Castrol GTX conventional 10W-30 for my first oil change. I will switch to a synthetic 5W-30 once I get more of the stage 0 rehabilitation completed. This thread suggests that synthetic may d...

Re: Synthetic Oil-- why can't you switch back/worth it?

I'd do what Neil said: like 1,000 miles or a hot summer month on cheap Wal-mart oil, then go to Rotella T6 5W-40 (that's a synthetic) and never look back. It's extremely unlikely to start leaking oil out some of the seams unless it is bleeding oil already.

Re: It's time to start bulking up on 850s

I see four stages to any car model: 1) New, available at the dealer 2) Used, widely available but no longer made, inexpensive to buy and maintain 3) Rare, running examples fetch decent money -- "More than they're worth", parts EOL and hard to find 4) Rare & Classic, good example...

Re: Synthetic Oil-- why can't you switch back/worth it?

Oil threads use synthetic words. They last 2x as long as normal words

Re: SC-810 radio question

Thank you so much for the link. So the LCD backlight is not part of the LCD module, it is a separate bulb ?

Thanks,

Re: SC-810 radio question

Would it be easier to upgrade to an SC-815/816 with the tape and single CD player. They have the built in amps. We just has a 50% off at our local PnP and they sell for about $10-15 CDN.

Check with abscate. Chances are he is falling over them!
